I’m Becca, the owner of Claya and the person behind what you see here.

Claya grew from a very personal chapter in my life. I lost my husband to brain cancer shortly before our son was born, leaving me to find my feet as a mum of three and work out what came next.

Claya became part of that next chapter. Business wasn’t new to me - I’d previously owned a bricks-and-mortar store and worked in senior roles for other brands. Claya, however, was my first ecommerce business - a different space, with plenty to learn along the way.

What started with gifting has grown into the lifestyle and gifting store it is today. Over time, the collection has evolved and Claya has developed a style of its own - from the brands we stock to the products we choose and the way we bring them together, there’s a point of view that is unmistakably Claya.

I’m still the person choosing what comes into the store. I’m particular about quality, good design and finding products that feel right alongside everything else at Claya. Australian brands sit alongside international names, established labels alongside smaller ones, creating a collection that feels distinctly ours.

That same eye carries through our gifting. I’ve always believed a good gift isn't about how much is in the box or how much you spend. It’s about knowing the person and choosing something that feels right for them.

Today, Claya is still independently owned and run by me. I’m behind the buying, the direction of the store and the details that make Claya feel like Claya.

It has grown and changed considerably since those early days, but what sits behind it hasn’t: a strong point of view, good products and genuine care for how they’re chosen, presented and sent.
